AcroTex Dance – Georgetown

Pre-Ballet & Tap Movement: Introduction to class structure through music and fun dance activities. (3-4 years)

Kid’s Ballet and Tap Movement: Introduction to dance terminology, muscle awareness and body placement, culminating in a dance routine. (4-7 years)

Pre-Teen Ballet, Tap & Jazz This class will concentrate on body and muscle awareness while having fun putting tap, ballet and jazz steps together to form a routine. (7-12 years)

Intermediate & Advance Ballet: Must have a strong command of barre and center work. Technique and strength building class concentrating on specific exercises for dancing en Pointe. Pointe shoes are welcome, but not necessary. (Teen and up)

Pre-Pointe Technique: Teacher Approval Required

Hip Hop Jazz: A fun, high energy class working on jazz techniques and exercises and putting them with hip hop moves to form a routine. (Beginner & Intermediate)

AcroTex Jazz Stars: A fun new jazz performance group that will teach the fundamentals of jazz and jazz technique. It will consist of kicks, leaps, turns, and basic dance technique that is put into choreography and preformed around the community at different events throughout the year.

Learn what it takes to be a triple threat! This Musical Theater class is a fun way to learn the tricks of the trade and develop strong stage presence. Taught by Mary Katherine Kinney, the course will focus on the dancing, acting, and vocal techniques and styles used in Broadway musicals. Mary Katherine has studied musical theater style performance under Broadway veterans, including Danny Herman, Rocker Verastique, and Broadway star, Billy Porter. She has taught voice for Artistic Education Company’s Let’s Sing Jazz to Opera voice program, as well as choreographed and assisted in the direction of Once Upon a Mattress.
